it looks like a bowfin with a bird and your lure in his mouth ..good catch

That is not a bowfin. It could be a snakehead, but it sure doesn't look like anything native to the USA. Where was it caught? The shape of the head lookds like a walleye, and the color pattern looks like an eelpout, but it obviously isn't either of these either.

whoa? what is that? somethin that likes big meals i guess. i'd be freaked out if i saw that thing coming in on the end of my line. looks like a cross between a lake trout and a walleye but im guessing its some kind of foreign fish.

It's a Murray Cod, an Australian fish.
There are reknown for their surface feeding and will not hesitate to take a bird as is seen in the photo. The record is somewhere over 110kg and close to 1.8m, a big big fish!!!!
